Make Polluters Pay

The Make Polluters Pay Coalition consists of charitable and campaigning organisations calling for oil and gas giants and wealthy polluters to pay for the climate damage they've caused, both in the UK and abroad.

Whilst working for Make Polluters Pay I designed and executed high-impact communications strategies that translated complex policy issues (e.g., loss and damage finance) into compelling and accessible narratives. This strategy was crafted with the intention of shifting public understanding, strengthening political pressure, and aligning messaging across diverse coalitions.
I created engaging graphics and short-form videos using software such as Canva and CapCut to deliver Make Polluters Pay campaign asks to new audiences and direct more supporters into our Action Network activist pipeline. Adapting our policy asks into accessible short-form video content, doubled our Instagram followers, led to a 15-fold increase in TikTok followers, and led to content reaching up to 22,000 individuals per post.

I was also responsible for creating infographics and communication packs for the coalition of NGO's to use as well as creating and managing brand assets, including websites, publications, flyers and banners.

Further responsibilities included:
- Working across multiple digital platforms to drive successful campaigns
- Developing educational and engaging digital content for social media channels including, but not limited to, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter/X, Facebook, and Threads
- Creating educational and engaging content for websites related to active campaigns
- Communicating with supporters using a variety of digital tools, including social media and mailing lists
- Communicating complex issues to a variety of audiences, with a willingness to learn how to develop campaigning frames and narratives
